About DBT

Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) is a type of behavioral therapy.   It utilizes a unique set of therapeutic conditions including: individual therapy, group skills training and telephone coaching to help patients learn and use new strategies to build a life that they want. DBT emphasizes both acceptance and change oriented skills. We help clients who struggle with extreme emotional sensitivity to move away from extreme thinking patterns. During Individual Treatment each client works on their own specific targeted treatment goals. DBT Nola offers both virtual and in person sessions.

 Group Skills Training occurs in a safe nonjudgmental treatment milieu and provides education in:

  • Interpersonal Effectiveness

  • Walking the Middle Path

Rock Balancing

Individual therapy, Group therapy and Phone coaching are essential components of DBT. Therapists also participate in a peer consultation group to sustain treatment fidelity.
